Job Description

People Skills

· Work with other staff members of the pre-construction department incl 3D Technician, and Proposals Team

· Manage the workload of others in a timely manner to meet your deadlines

· Develop communication links and relationships with Elstree Ink for graphics and design

· Engage in Tender Launch meetings to listen to opinions and to provide ideas on the graphics in line with the submission requirements

· Understand 2d/3d design software and modelling stills for headings and instructions

· Understand the operational methodology and graphics input required from the bid and construction team and revise and develop as it evolves into the final draft

· Review graphics and design progress with the Bid Lead and communicate best ideas

· Present story board graphics with pre-construction disciplines to receive comments and ideas. Manage the receiving of this information from persons responsible and reformat

· Attend and support bid team with presentations and slides for mid and post tender meetings and interviews

· Share feedback on both successful and unsuccessful Quality submissions and create a process of continuous improvement

· Create a submission template that could be used by JRL Group in-House companies

· Engage in frequent meetings to review last Quality submissions with Dept Heads

Performance Measurement

· Be competent in the use of Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Indesign, Adobe PRO DC and other web based design and multimedia packages when needed

· Produce design and graphics submissions using best practice and company standards whilst introducing improved design and graphics to enhance the end product

· Effective time management working to deadlines for submissions and managing the time of others to assist you in this task

· Being a good listener and having the confidence to ask why?

· Early research of clients and tender opportunities leading to formatting of graphic design requirements early in the pre tender period

· Generate design and graphic Case Studies and include evidence and examples of best practice where it can enhance or improve our submission

· Graphics and design input into the production of PQQ, SSQ, ITT and submission documents to fixed deadlines

· Very good verbal and written communication skills

· Be involved in the decision making process for submission documents and provide early ideas for layouts and graphical content

· Keep current the Company Database with presentations and submissions

· Competent in the use of Word and basic excel software

Qualifications and Experience

· 3 years’ experience working as a Graphic Designer in a suitable business

· Experienced and confident enough to multi task on several projects and meet deadlines

· Post Graduate qualification in design and graphics ( not essential )

· Punctual and reliable in carrying out duties to meet deadlines set by internal and external parties

· Being able to prioritize workload when multi-tasking to complete to fixed submission dates

· Visiting the Group Construction sites and taking photos of construction progress
