Job Description

We are looking for a System Accountant to provide support for the business, over a range of different systems. The role will specialise in finance support on our main ERP system, COINS, however detailed knowledge on other modules and systems will be required. There will also be some involvement in upcoming projects and implementations. The role will be part of a busy systems team, which is split into two sections; business as usual support and projects. Ideally this position will move into a management role for the BAU side of the team, after a short settling in period.  

You will typically be providing second line support to the business as a whole, covering a range of systems for several departments. You will deal with second line issues that the first line support are unable to resolve, raising them with the software providers where necessary and getting resolutions. You will be involved in regular meetings with software providers to monitor ongoing issues, you will also monitor a helpdesk where internal queries are received. You will produce monthly summaries on ticket content, resolution times, and make recommendations for improvements. You will also be involved in some projects, assisting with data migration, data cleansing and testing.

You will be heavily involved in system upgrades, testing fixes and suggesting general process improvements, working with the end users to understand current and future requirements. Knowledge of upcoming change of legislation is required as you will need to lead any system changes to ensure we are compliant, this includes the system amendments, testing, training end users and monitoring following the process change.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Experience in finance systems support, development improvement and process change

·         Experience in training and helping others to use systems effectively

·         Experience in data migration, extracts, and testing integrity

·         Highly Organised and confident in dealing with multiple tasks at one time

·         Ability to keep to deadlines, managing workloads effectively

·         Proven ability to integrate well into a team and build relationships well with senior stakeholders

·         Excellent business acumen, and communication skills with the ability to present to exec level

·         Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite, in particular strong knowledge of Excel, Visio and PowerPoint

·         Hands on attitude and a willingness to understand the fine detail

·         Knowledge of a range of business processes, such as Supply Chain, Finance, Payroll

·         Pro-active and self-motivated with the ability to work within a fast-paced environment

·         Experience using COINS

·         Qualified Accountant
