Job Description

As L&D Manager, you will join JRL Group’s L&D function. The role will be based in the company’s head office in Borehamwood with occasional travel to external sites around the UK.

 

The purpose of this role is to work closely with the L&D Lead, Training Coordinator and Training Administrator with the view to:

- Create training programmes that are aligned with the organisation’s objectives

- Implement a learning management system (LMS) to enable efficient and robust reporting of all training activities

- Ensure that all funding and rebate opportunities are obtained from learning and development programmes delivered, i.e. Apprenticeships, CITB

 

This role is suitable for a positive and approachable individual with excellent interpersonal skills who will proactively consult with key stakeholders to identify their learning needs and provide innovative training solutions to achieve the expected performance impact in an efficient, supportive and engaging manner.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Ensure the smooth running and control of the day to day operation of the JRL Group Learning and Development (L&D) department

· Devise in-house and third-party learning & development solutions using a blended approach to learning, including statutory, mandatory, desirable training and any other learning programmes and activities.

· Work in collaboration with the L&D Lead to devise an annual training plan ensuring quality of delivery and implementation in line with the company training strategy

· Work in collaboration with line managers to provide specific training solutions (one-to-one & groups)

· Design, expand and oversee training and development programmes

· Develop effective induction programmes

· Manage cost control and reporting

· Monitor the progress of graduate, trainee, apprentice and all other professional and academic programmes

· Analyse training needs of individual employees where requested

· Develop relationships with external providers

· Measure employee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement

· Liaise with Recruitment Manager to ensure clear communication and efficient and meaningful On boarding experience for employees

 

Desirable Criteria:

· Educated to degree level or have significant professional experience

· Experience of working within a similar role, ideally within a fast paced L&D function in a large organisation

· Experience of delivering training and developing training materials for a variety of stakeholders

· Experience in a team management position

· Experience of apprenticeships

· Exceptional interpersonal skills and written & verbal communication skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Strong knowledge of MS Office programmes

· Certificate in training practice or equivalent, CIPD qualified (preferred)

· Experience in following legal and finance processes related to training engagements (preferred)

· Experience of working with funding (eg CiTB, Apprenticeship Levy) (preferred)

· Knowledge of the construction sector would be an advantage (preferred)
